Dr Nives Botica Redmayne has been appointed as president of CA ANZ, replacing incumbent Peter Rupp from 1 January 2021.
Dr Botica Redmayne is an associate professor in accountancy at the Massey University School of Accountancy, Massey Business School, in New Zealand.
A CA ANZ vice-president since 2019, Dr Botica Redmayne is a member of New Zealand Accounting Standards Board and a member of the New Zealand Financial Markets Authority Audit Oversight Committee.
The CA ANZ Council has also appointed Kate Boorer as the new vice-president for Australia and Murray Harrington as New Zealand vice-president.
Ms Boorer, a councillor since 2019, is currently the chief executive of Young Professional Women Australia and founding partner of Pearman & Partners, a consultancy that specialises in aligning organisational culture with business strategy.
Mr Harrington is the chief executive of Nomos One Limited, a lease accounting software company, and was previously a partner at PwC where he provided a range of services including risk advisory, consulting and financial advisory. He has been a councillor since 2017.
Outgoing president Mr Rupp has thanked outgoing Australian vice-president Peter O’Regan and outgoing councillors Lorraine Watt and Richard Dey for their contributions to the council.
“It was humbling to see the generosity of our membership during the Australian bushfires earlier this year,” Mr Rupp said.
“This compassion was a constant theme for our members throughout the year, as I frequently heard them recount how they were on the frontline advising, managing and guiding businesses, their local communities and economies.”
